Paola joined the Housley lab as a PhD student in October 2023. Prior to this, she completed her MSci in Molecular Biology at the University of Manchester with placements at The University of Oviedo and IRB Barcelona in Spain. As a BBSRC Collaborative Training Partnership (CTP) student, she will investigate the role of aberrant DNA replication and repair in the progression of premature ageing disorders Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome and Werner Syndrome. Throughout her PhD she will be collaborating with Insmed, a pharmaceutical company developing therapeutics for rare and serious diseases.
